Together Mediation – Online Family Mediation Across the UK
We offer online family mediation to help parents and separating couples resolve child arrangements, financial matters, and communication—without the stress and cost of court.
Family mediation is a voluntary and confidential process where a trained mediator helps separating couples or family members discuss and resolve issues such as parenting arrangements, finances, or property. It’s a more affordable, less adversarial alternative to court
A MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) is the first step in the family mediation process. It’s a one-to-one meeting between you and the mediator to discuss your situation, understand how mediation works, and decide whether it’s the right path.
- The MIAM is completely confidential
- Only one person attends at a time
- If mediation isn’t appropriate, we can issue a MIAM certificate so you can apply to court.
We offer MIAM appointments at a flat rate of £65. This includes:
- A 45–60 minute confidential meeting with a qualified mediator
- A MIAM certificate if mediation cannot proceed which cost £80 extra
Please note: we do not offer Aid, but we do participate in the MOJ Voucher Scheme, which can help cover the cost of child-related mediation sessions. Ask us if you’re eligible.
Booking is simple and fully online. Click here to schedule your MIAM. You can also email us at hello@togethermediation.co.uk or call +44 7833 471762.
Shuttle mediation is where both parties don’t have to be in the same virtual room. Instead, the mediator moves between you — often using an online platform like Microsoft Teams — ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety if direct communication is difficult.
This is ideal for high-conflict situations or where face-to-face discussion is too sensitive.
If mediation is suitable and both parties agree, we’ll arrange online mediation sessions to help you reach an agreement. If mediation isn’t appropriate or the other party doesn’t engage, we can issue a court certificate so you can proceed with your application.
All our mediation is conducted online, via secure video call. This flexible approach allows you to join from anywhere worldwide and often leads to better outcomes, as clients feel more relaxed in their own environment. We also offer shuttle mediation—where each person is in a separate virtual room—if preferred.
Our family mediation services can help resolve a wide range of issues:
- Child arrangements (contact schedules, holidays, schooling)
- Financial mediation (division of assets, pensions, debts, and savings)
- Communication plans between parents
- Adjustments to existing agreements as situations change.
Child-inclusive mediation allows children (usually age 10+) to speak privately with a specially trained mediator. This helps ensure their views are heard and considered — without placing pressure or responsibility on them.
Yes. All family mediation sessions are private and legally privileged. This means nothing discussed can be used in court without mutual agreement—except in cases involving risk of harm or criminal activity. Financial disclosure made during mediation can support legal documents if required.
We offer clear, affordable pricing with no VAT:
- MIAM: £65 – £80 per person
- Mediation sessions: £150 – £175 per hour per person
- Optional documents (Parenting Plan, Financial Statement, Memorandum of Understanding): £175 per person per document.
We also participate in the Government Family Mediation Voucher Scheme, offering up to £500 towards child-related mediation. Ask us about eligibility.
Most people resolve their issues in 1–2 sessions. In fact, over 90% of matters we handle are resolved within just two hours of mediation.
You don’t need a solicitor to take part in mediation, but we recommend getting legal advice when turning your agreement into a binding Consent Order or financial settlement. Mediators provide legal information, not legal advice.
Yes — we collaborate closely with solicitors. Mediation helps to narrow or resolve the key issues, and then your solicitor can draft the final legal documentation (such as a consent order or financial agreement) to be submitted to the court.
This saves time, reduces legal fees, and ensures both legal and emotional support.
If mediation isn’t suitable, or one party chooses not to participate, we will issue a MIAM certificate that allows you to apply to court. The process is still valid and keeps the door open for future resolution.
Even if full agreement isn’t reached, mediation often narrows the issues and improves communication. If mediation ends without resolution, we can provide a certificate confirming that mediation was attempted, allowing you to continue through legal channels.
All our mediators are Family Mediation Council Accredited (FMCA) and have legal training and years of experience. They are neutral professionals who facilitate respectful, future-focused conversations, whether you're addressing finances, parenting, or both.
